Finding Home In Haiku
BY DAVE RODWELL
Out of his TaikoPeace workshop experiences, Dave Rodwell was moved to explore haiku more deeply as a form of personal expression. His haiku takes us on a rambling journey for the imagination and the senses.
Haiku is a Japanese poem in three lines of five, seven, and five syllables. It has become a creative tool used often in TaikoPeace workshops allowing participants to freely express both individual and collective energy in a simple, yet provocative way.
The cascading sea,
Unequivocal forces.
Neptune's roaring wrath.
Monstrous tentacles,
Fracturing communal growth.
Monetary greed.
The beauty of life,
Giving smiles love and passion.
Harmonise spirit.
Vibrant connections,
Growth between arts and nature.
Beautiful bindings.
Entwined friendships,
Stand tall and strong against wrong.
Lifting glowing love.
